ANGUNAE’ DODSON-WADEAngunae’ is a Fashion Design Major at the Art Institute of Indianapolis, IN and an advocate for helping others. A missionary of all trades, her first priority aside from her church, school and family is always others. Upon graduation her degree will become a tool of not only restoration but of healing; as she travels the globe producing garments for impoverished countries in hopes that others may understand and receive God’s love. Working with many programs throughout her community; such as but not limited to feeding the homeless, and the Peers Project of Indiana, she encourages young people to abstain and break away from “risky” behavior and to set goals towards a successful future.
As much as God has allowed her to be used in and throughout her community, he has led her up a never-ending highway of success and favor. She has received the opportunity to compete in the National American Miss system winning many awards, including National American Miss Indiana Spokesmodel, National Miss Personality and Outstanding Program Achievement and proudly represents the city of Indianapolis as the 2011 National All-American Miss City Queen. She has had the privilege to intern with many fashion elites and continues to design and produce fashion shows of her own. As a senior in high school she worked along side the Fashion Designer & Creator of Midwest Fashion Week; Bernie Martin though her schools IPS Student Entrepreneurship Mentoring Program. She is President of her Schools Sisterhood Council, secretary for “The FWB Circle City District of Indianapolis Nurses Board” and currently training in missionary studies. In 2010 she received the “God is Doing a New Thing” community service, presented by her pastor James M. Reeves on behalf of the “FWB Circle City District of Indianapolis.” Although all of these titles, awards and once in a lifetime experiences have all been amazing there is a bigger task at hand. On February 7th, Angunae’ joined along the side of two of her former sister queens and two of the most amazing young ladies, as a sponsor and co-founder for BTD. With determination in their hearts and hair in the wind, these girls have tirelessly worked to ensure not only that this foundation helps others to succeed but that in turn each child takes the initiative to pay it forward by helping others with the same approach. Angunae’ established a small fashion business called Decade Designs Inc. which is the hostess for her online fashion portfolio “Design Of A Decade” which is a proud and honored sponsor for the “Be The Difference Foundation”. |
