About the Founders

Megan Viola-Vu Founder & PresidentMegan was born in Holland, MI on February 18, 1991, where she lived until the age of 15. She moved to Sugar Land, TX in 2006 with her family. Megan attended Holland High School (Holland, MI), Stephen F. Austin High School (Sugar Land, TX), and Foster High School (Richmond, TX) before graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School c/o 2009. She is currently a senior at the University of St. Thomas with a major in Communication and a minor in Marketing.
Megan has held several leadership roles at UST, including the 2011-2012 External Vice President of the Vietnamese Student Association, 2011-2013 Secretary of the UST Tennis Club, 2011 Vietnamese Youth Advent Retreat Leader, and has been recognized as a 2011-2012 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges. Megan is the reigning 2011-2012 National American Miss National Cover Miss. She has been involved with pageants since the age of 12. She was the Marketing Coordinator for the 2012 Hope Initiative Miss My Nuong Princess Pageant. She was the 2007-2008 National American Miss Jr. Teen Texas State Ambassador, the 2011 National All-American Miss South Texas City Queen: Miss Sugar Land, and the 2012 National All-American Miss South Texas City Queen: Miss Missouri City. Megan enjoys working with children and is a youth group leader for the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society, where she teaches middle school kids. Outside of school, she spends her time on several dance teams. She has been in dance since the age of eight and was a cheerleader for eight years. She is the Historian of the Nu Vuong Hoa Binh Lion Dance Team and a dancer on the Souls of Rhythm Dance Team. She was in TaeKwonDo for 11 years, received her black belt when she was 16 years old, and at the age of 8, she was the National Champion. She has also been involved in tennis, soccer, and track for a number of years. |

Kahlee Smith Co-founder & Secretary
Kahlee Smith was born and raised in the little town of Mt. Dora, FL. She graduated from Eustis High School as a Magna Cum Laude, with a 3.9 unweighted GPA. She is currently a sophomore attending the University of Central Florida and is currently working on her Bachelors, with a major in Interpersonal/Organizational Communications and a minor in Pre-Law. After she graduates, she plans to attend law school.
On campus, she is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. As a new member, she has been very involved and is looking forward to running for committee and chair positions when voting occurs. She is also involved in the UCF Chapter of National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the UCF Chapter of Invisible Children (a group dedicated to raising funds for the children affected by the civil wars in Africa), and she plans to start a UCF Chapter for the “Be The Difference” Campaign. She enjoys painting, drawing and crafting. She also loves to use her artistic talents on anything from gifts to schoolwork. She played volleyball for 10 years, including being part of Florida Club travel teams, the UCF Traveling Club Team, and the Florida National Team to compete in the King Kamehameha Tournament in Honolulu, HI. She is very dedicated to the game and has volunteered as a coach for junior teams for three years. When the holidays come around, she enjoys getting her family involved in extreme baking to disperse to the community. Her favorite spot to hit is the local retirement homes- the stories you’ll hear are astounding! She has participated in pageants for four years, earning invitations to National American Miss Nationals twice, and earning the state city-queen title which led her to compete in Nationals 2012. She has earned titles as State Spokesmodel as well. She is very excited for the BTD Campaign and in brining it to the beautiful Sunshine State! |

Davin Vo Co-founder & Media Relations DirectorDavin was born and raised in Boston, MA where he lived until the age of 10. He moved to Ipswich, MA, a small town north of Boston. In Ipswich, he volunteered at the local recreation center where he helped at a summer daycare/camp and was part of T.T.A.F. (Talk to a Friend), a group of teens who are there to talk to their peers if they ever needed help. In 2007, Davin moved to Manvel, TX with his family. He is currently attending Manvel High School where he will graduate in June 2013.
Davin has volunteered in many places and is very involved at his church. During his confirmation years, he has volunteered over 70 hours at nursing homes, homeless shelters, church events and many other places. He is now a Youth Eucharistic Minister and youth leader at his parish. Davin enjoys working with and helping his peers and those who are in need. The reason that he volunteers is to put smiles on people’s faces. He believes that everyone deserves to be happy. As Media Relations Director, he handles the website and store. He is excited to be part of this foundation and is looking forward to its future. |
